Sixth Annual Guelph Transit Art Contest Now Open

Andra Arnold • November 11, 2025

Calling all local artists and photographers! Your work could be featured on a Guelph Transit bus for an entire year.* We're searching for art that brightens someone's day and brings joy to our community.

This marks the sixth year of our annual transit art contest, born from a simple idea: our community deserves more joy and beauty in everyday spaces. In a world where advertisements fill nearly every surface we see, we wanted to create something different - a chance to transform our buses into moving canvases that celebrate creativity instead of consumerism.

This contest is our way of supporting the arts and shining a spotlight on the incredible talent right here in our community. By featuring local artists on our transit fleet, we're not only brightening commutes and streetscapes, but also giving our creative community the recognition and visibility they deserve.

TO ENTER: Please submit your artwork or photography by December 8th to andraarnold@royallepage.ca with the subject title "Guelph Transit Art Contest 2025". Please attach a filled out consent form with all submissions.

All submissions must include all artist information (name, name of piece, social media, website, etc.) in order for us to property credit you as an artist.

Being a "local artist" is about connection, not just your current address. Whether you grew up here, studied here, or have other meaningful ties to Wellington County, we want to see your work. Tell us about your connection when you submit.

After reviewing all entries, we'll narrow it down to 10 finalists. From there, the community decides! Cast your vote between December 10th and 18th. Good luck to all our talented artists!

*Art/photography will be featured on Guelph Transit Bus from Winter 2026 - Winter 2027.
