1.     Paint

Freshen up your space, brighten your walls, even if it’s the same or similar colour. Walls take a beating. Pets, kids, everyday wear and tear; painting cleans up and brings new life to your space. Need some paint colour inspo? Check out Jaden's Top Paint Trends for 2023!

2.     Swap out furniture pieces

Whether it’s a chair, side table, coffee table, rug etc. Swap it out for something new and switch up the look. Sell or donate your old pieces and make room for something new to you.

3.     Switch out basic linens, add throw blankets and throw pillows

Alternate curtains, bedding, towels, etc. Add fun pillows and throws to your living space and bedroom. It brings a fresh new look. Add a pop of colour or pattern that suits your space.

4.     Rearrange your space

Have a fresh set of eyes or take a moment to alternate your room and see what looks best. Sometimes the simple act of swapping the placement of a couch or bed can change a space entirely. Look online for similar room sizes and layouts, see what designers recommend.

5.     Replace hardware

Change out older hardware for something sleek and updated. Kitchen cabinets, door handles, bathroom fixtures. It’s an easy, often inexpensive way to revamp a space.

6.     Add a feature wall

The options are endless, add a pop of colour or patterned wallpaper. There are many cost-effective and even rental friendly or temporary options out there.

7.     Bring in greenery

Green-thumb or not, plants bring so much life to a space. They are not only aesthetically beneficial, they can also clean your air and offer almost therapeutic-like qualities. If you struggle with the care of living things, there’s always a forgiving succulent.

8.     Find some art and décor that speaks to you

It’s amazing what art can do to a space. Find something that resonates with you, create a gallery wall, add small décor pieces to shelving, cabinets, tables, etc.

9.     Purge

Sometimes all your home needs is a good purge and tidy. It’s easy to accumulate items overtime. It’s important to go through shelves, closets and cabinets, clearing out things that no longer serve a purpose in your space. Think Marie Kondo! “Does it spark joy?” No? Donate it!

10.  Brighten things up

Does your space feel dim? Add some light. Wall colours are one thing, sometimes it’s as simple as adding a lamp to a dark corner or switching out old light fixtures. Change heavy curtains with something sheer to allow more natural light. Mirrors are another great way to brighten things up as they can reflect light. Add mirrors opposite of light sources, but angle to avoid a glare.

What’s your next big change?

It’s easy to get bored with your space. Switch things up and keep it interesting. Your space is a direct reflection of you, it's important to enjoy the place you will be spending most of your time in.
