Spring is in the air! With spring, comes spring cleaning. View our Spring Cleaning Checklist to help you tackle each space in and outside your home! Cleaning at the start of spring gives your home a nice reset. Dust can gather in the winter months – a good spring cleaning ensures your home’s bedding, carpets, upholstery and more are free of dust and ready for the warmer weather. Overall, it can help improve your home’s air quality and help you to feel healthier and happier.

Here’s Our Spring Cleaning Checklist:

EVERY ROOM

  • Wash baseboards & doors
  • Vacuum & wash vents
  • Wash drapes & blinds
  • Dust overhead lights & replace burnt bulbs
  • Dust/vacuum light fixtures & lamp shades
  • Wash windows
  • Vacuum & wash floors

KITCHEN

  • Clean out pantry & cupboards
  • Wash cabinets
  • Clean oven
  • Clean and disinfect fridge & freezer interior
  • Move fridge & vacuum

LIVING ROOM

  • Dust & wash picture frames, mirrors & decorative items
  • Dust & vacuum furniture
  • Wash blankets & throw pillows

BEDROOMS

  • Wash bedding, throw pillows & blankets
  • Declutter & dust shelves, drawers & side tables
  • Dust & wash mirrors, frames & decorative items
  • Vacuum & wash floors
  • Sort through closet & donate or sell unused items ( Salvation Army Thrift Store , St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store )
  • Store winter clothing
  • Flip or rotate mattress

BATHROOM

  • Clean & disinfect bathtub/shower
  • Wash cabinets & drawers
  • Clean & disinfect countertops, sink & faucets
  • Clean & disinfect toilet
  • Dust & clean bathroom fan
  • Wash/replace shower liner/curtain
  • Discard old/unused makeup
  • Update first aid kit
  • Discard expired medications

HOME

  • Change batteries in smoke & carbon monoxide detectors
  • Store winter items & decorations
  • Disinfect electronics

OUTDOOR

  • Sweep porch, deck and/or balcony
  • Sweep driveway & sidewalks
  • Check rain gutters
  • Inspect shingles
  • Check & replace exterior lights
  • Get ready for gardening
  • Dig out outdoor furniture & BBQ
  • Clean BBQ
